About Annmarie
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’re opening up to someone you’ve just met. I get that. My goal is to create a space where you feel at ease being yourself—where healing doesn’t feel so heavy, and where growth can happen at your pace.
I’m a licensed therapist with over 15 years of experience working in both community mental health and private practice settings. I earned my master’s degree from Northwestern University and have spent my career supporting individuals through complex life challenges—from addiction, anxiety, and depression to PTSD and major transitions. My clinical style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices.
I’m trained in Brainspotting, a brain-body based therapy that can help process trauma and emotional blocks at a deeper level. I also integrate psychodynamic insight, mindfulness, and somatic approaches to help clients reconnect with themselves and feel more in control of their emotional world. For those interested in alternative healing modalities, I also offer Shamanic Healing, Sound Therapy, and other body-centered techniques that can support deeper transformation—especially when traditional talk therapy isn’t enough.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself lately, therapy can offer clarity and relief. I believe healing starts with feeling truly heard, and I’ll meet you wherever you are emotionally—with no judgment and no pressure to be anywhere else.
In our first few sessions, we’ll focus on building a relationship that feels safe and supportive. From there, we’ll identify what’s working, what’s holding you back, and what meaningful change might look like for you. I do this work because I’ve seen the power of it—and because I believe people can change, even when it doesn’t feel possible at first.
